Welcome to Escarpment Shellhole
Escarpment is a recognised M.O.T.H. Shellhole within Namibia Command. Based in Walvis Bay, it forms part of the wider network of M.O.T.H. comrades across Namibia.
The Escarpment Shellhole Community
A Shellhole is a place where comradeship is maintained, memories are shared and the M.O.T.H. tradition continues from one generation to the next.
Comradeship
Escarpment provides a local connection for M.O.T.H. comrades in the Walvis Bay area, helping members remain part of a wider community of veterans and supporters.
Remembrance
The Shellhole carries the responsibility of remembering those who served and honouring comrades who are no longer with us.
Escarpment in Walvis Bay
Walvis Bay is home to one of Namibia’s established M.O.T.H. Shellholes. Escarpment connects local comrades with the wider M.O.T.H. Namibia family and Namibia Command.
The Shellhole provides a local point of connection for comrades and supporters while preserving the traditions that have long been central to the M.O.T.H. Order.
As more of the Shellhole’s history, activities and memories are recorded, this page can grow into a permanent digital record of Escarpment and its comrades.
The M.O.T.H. Tradition
Escarpment forms part of the continuing M.O.T.H. tradition in Namibia.
True Comradeship
Maintaining the bonds between comrades and providing a place where members can meet, remember and belong.
Mutual Help
Supporting the principle of helping comrades and maintaining a community where people look after one another.
Sound Memory
Preserving the stories and memories of those who served so that their experiences are not forgotten.
The Story of Escarpment
Every Shellhole has its own history, its own comrades and its own memories. Escarpment is part of the continuing story of M.O.T.H. in Namibia.
Historical M.O.T.H. records show members associated with Escarpment during the former South West Africa period. As additional Shellhole records, photographs and memories become available, this section can be expanded to preserve that history properly.
The aim is simple: to ensure that the story of the comrades who built and maintained Escarpment remains available for those who follow.
