Welcome to Blacksheep Windy ’Ole
Blacksheep Windy ’Ole is the Windhoek Shellhole of M.O.T.H. Namibia and forms part of Namibia Command. The Shellhole has a documented history reaching back to at least 1972 and continues the M.O.T.H. tradition of bringing comrades together in fellowship, remembrance and mutual support.

A History Reaching Back
M.O.T.H. records and historical material document Blacksheep Windy ’Ole in Windhoek as far back as 1972. The Shellhole has therefore been part of the M.O.T.H. story in Namibia for many decades.
Part of Namibia Command
Blacksheep Windy ’Ole is recognised within the M.O.T.H. Shellhole network as part of Namibia Command, linking the Windhoek Shellhole to the wider M.O.T.H. Order and its comrades throughout the region.

Historical M.O.T.H. material records a Blacksheep Windy ’Ole Shellhole plaque marked “1972 — Windhoek”, providing an important marker in the Shellhole’s history.
A New Chapter of Airborne Comradeship
In July 2018, the first group of Namibian paratrooper veterans were initiated as members of the Windhoek Shellhole after choosing to join forces with M.O.T.H. rather than establish a separate canopy.
Remembering Fallen Airborne Comrades
The Shellhole has hosted St Michael’s Day gatherings, bringing paratrooper veterans together in remembrance and fellowship. Candles have been lit in memory of comrades who did not return.
Keeping Memories Alive
Blacksheep Windy ’Ole has also provided a place for remembrance occasions and evenings where veterans’ experiences and stories can be shared with fellow comrades.
The Airborne Connection
One of the distinctive chapters in the more recent story of Blacksheep Windy ’Ole has been its connection with Namibian paratrooper veterans.
From 2018, paratrooper veterans joined the Windhoek Shellhole and became an active part of M.O.T.H. Namibia. Their involvement brought additional airborne comradeship to the Shellhole, while strengthening the wider M.O.T.H. community.
Activities associated with this connection have included St Michael’s Day gatherings, paratrooper reunions, remembrance occasions and Cassinga story evenings — providing opportunities for veterans to share personal memories and preserve their experiences for future generations.
